Tom Yum Goong film details 2005-07-24
Check out two interesting articles posted on Tom Yum Goong official website. The first talks about the 4-minute uncut action scene and the second is about the scene with Tony Jaa and the X Game.

"It's the longest action shot in the world. You've never seen something like this before. There may have been some long shooting scenes in other films but not a long shot martial art scene that the fight continue from the first floor to the fourth floor of a building. The actors and the camera crew had to climb up stairs to the first, the second, the third, and the fourth floor. It is obviously a very great scene in this movie".

"One of the new movements in this scene is when Jaa had to do a back sommersault and then press himself on the wall of a building. The space where he stands is very narrow and he had to act like a gecko. We called it The gecko movement. He had to make sure that he will land at the right spot or else he could fall and get hurt. This shot, as all shots, there is no using of sling. We let Jaa have a lot of time for meditate and practice until he was ready. This shot is very quick but the picture came out very exciting. Jaa has a talent of climbing high on a wall without any helping tool. In this film, it's not a brick wall, but a glass wall that he has to climb to escape from an ATV car. If the glass break, it can be dangerous as well. So we have to be very accurate about the time of climbing glasswall and the time that the car coming to hit him. If not, Jaa could get hurt".

Sia Jiang, the owner of Sahamongkol Film, might have said there should be two versions of Tom Yum Goong: one version of 1h40 for Thailand and a second version of 2h10 for international release. The feedbacks of the first version should determine the cuts of the second... Anyway to be confirmed.

By the way, Tony Jaa is currently in Hong Kong where he'll perform during the Mr. Hong Kong contest. He'll be back in Thailand on 27th July for the world premiere of Tom Yum Goong in Bangkok at SF Cinema (MBK branch) about 08.30 p.m. The Prime minister will be present.
