The story is about a man with two sides - good and evil. Conceited about his talents, he lives in a world of darkness until he discovers the beauty of khon, (Thai masked dance), and transforms it into a gracious fighting skill.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is directed by Tony Jaa himself who is the lead actor as well. He works along with his long-time Master Panna Rittikrai.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is an action movie and the story is inspired by Khon Dance, a traditional Thai dance. It'll use a new kind of Muay Thai combined to Khon Dance and ancient Thai weapons (including the sword and the spear). This new style of fighting adapted from Khon Dance Performance is called Muay Khon. Jaa says he got the idea after meeting performance artist Pichet Klunchun during the Subhanahongsa Awards ceremony last year (You can download the video of this show on the website, thanks to Charro). There will be elephants involved in the movie as well, and they will be part of the action.

›› Ong-Bak 2 is not a sequel to Ong-Bak but a remake of "Ai Noom Saraphad Phid", a film Tony made with his mentor Panna Ritthikrai several years ago. The film was never released and none of the old footage will be used, because when Panna and Jaa took it to the lab to be developed, they were informed it had expired.

›› Tony Jaa has incorporated in the film the three Khon's main characters : phra [prince], yak [giant] and ling [monkey] which represent different gestures. The phra character has a gracious, subtle style, while the yak is stronger, more aggressive and the ling is swift and agile.

›› The Thai actress of the film has been hired by a public casting organized by The producers were looking for a Thai lady age 18-22 with talent in the field of Thai music and Thai dance.
