"It's really worth putting on a film, especially the set of boxing movement called “Muay Koshasan” or “Elephant boxing”. It is an ancient art, focusing on the act of hurling, pressing, grabbing, and breaking. There are also the boxing movements which imitate the movement of elephant, such as, Elephant Stab, Arawan Upper-cut, Break the Elephant's nose, etc." -Tony Jaa-

Is it a real martial art, or is an invention for the film???

On google i can't find nothing about Muay Koshasan or Elephant boxing... 15_sad.gif

help me please, this stile is too cool, i want learn it

thanks

EDIT:

can someone translate this?

"Teknik Muay Koshasan ni banyak Jaa pakai masa fight dengan bodyguard Madame Rose kat kuil. Kalau korang perasan ader 2 version fighting yang Jaa tunjukkan iaitu satu version lembut (masa dia lawan ramai2 kat Restoran) dan version ganas (selepas dia kena tikam masa dia nampak rangka Por Yai). Teknik dia terus bertukar jadi teknik permatahan dan killer teknik (aderla beberapa teknik tu nampak cantik coz by the fotography technique).

I think he meant the text, I've read through it and I couldn't understand a word so I don't think it's thai. But maybe because it's written in english text 012_huh.gif If you can post it in the original text so I know if it's thai, I might even translate that for you 32_icon_mrg.gif But my best bet is that it's not thai sweatingbullets.gif

As for the Muay Koshasan, I don't believe anybody is teaching it 119_animal41.gif

Muay Kochasan isn't widely spread. my best bet is that it can only be learned in thailand. thailand is probably the only country that teaches this kind of martial arts.

muay kochasan wasn't made up by tony jaa; otherwise it would just be too complicated if he only made this up. i'm pretty sure he learned it from other people. as from what i've read in www.wikipedia.org (an online encyclopedia), muay kochasan is a branch of muay boran. so i'm sure it wasn't made up.

if you really wan't to learn this form of martial arts the best way will be going to the country it originated from; which is thailand. as for world-wide teaching of this kind of martial arts, well if you learned this, you could built a dojo that teaches it and share it to other people. you'll never know you might be the next master of muay kochasan. 01_smile.gif

Jaa uses this Muay Koshashan technique a lot when fighting Madame Rose’s bodyguards at the temple. If you have noticed, Jaa displays two versions of fighting which is the softer version (when he fought them off at the restaurant) and the harder, more violent version (after he was stabbed when he saw Por Yai’s skeleton). His technique immediately changed into breaking technique and killing technique (there were a few techniques that looked very nice due to the cinematography). For those of you who are familiar with self-defense techniques, you will be able to see that the techniques that he uses are very practical for self defense except for a few techniques that are like Hap Ki Do techniques (leg lock) that only those with good flexibility can perform. I really felt awkward watching my technique (very similar to the technique I developed) being used in the film. I bet everyone will laugh if I say that Jaa used my technique. To me, every instructor has to have their own trademark move and my trademark is the hand lock and choke technique which I developed 2-3 years ago and somehow, it’s similar to a Muay Koshashan technique and I don’t have any idea how it came to be so similar. When I claim it’s my technique, they say I’m just being conceited.
