forgive me if this was already discussed... i did a search in the forum and didn't find anything, but maybe i didn't search well enough.

hello everyone! i hope you have all had a chance to watch ong bak again to look for dan chupong. if you haven't, then you should do it right now before you read the hint!
ok so here is the hint: i was able to track him down by the distinct sound of his voice!!!  that may not be enough of a hint... stay tuned for another one when i can think of one that isn't too revealing! oh, and i'd like to take this opportunity to thank dan chupong for his awesome performance in born to fight. i've watched it a few times in the past week or two, and while the level of violence is still disturbing, i thoroughly enjoy the movie and i really enjoyed dan's performance. i think it is clear that his love for his country is equal to his character's love for his country!  cha-yo!!!-------------------- เรารักในหลวง We Love Our King ISARA: Helping You Help the World |

HAHAA so funny!
I just discovered hm like you thawan. I was watching ong bak and heard "Yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" and my brain clicked in "This is DAn!" This "Yahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh" is the main dialog of Dan's last 40 minutes in born to fight so i easily recognized him. He's one of the two guys jaa's fighting in the cave with the slipped stick. Dan is the unfortunate reciever of the last double stick attack by Jaa. You can also see DAn in the 4 years prior filming demo movie where he plays in the same scene(the cave, but here in the training rehearsals) the role of the guy with the Saber that run away after jaa jumped onto the wall and stroke the guy with the, well...i don't recall the name but the "tonfa" like weapons. In Ong bak this playes by another stunt men and so dan is just few moments before. |

 It's interesting that his yell is his signature. I would love to see Tony and Dan pair up in a movie someday. They probably will! |

 good job!!! i think it was so difficult to see him because you only see his face for a moment. you can only see him clearly for a second when he first appears, and when he gets beat up, he is wearing a helmet-wig so it is even tougher to notice him. i will have a screen cap soon... -------------------- เรารักในหลวง We Love Our King ISARA: Helping You Help the World |

by the way, the tonfa-like weapons (wood bars strapped to forearms) are called "mai sohn sawk." no thai-keyboard.

Also go check out the making of. He is also in there. More information. For Thailand, he is recognized by Diew. Like Thai people Know Tony by Jaa Phanom or Phanom Yeerum. So we recognize Diew(Dan) by Diew Chupong, or Diew Chupong Changproong. For international market, he is known in the name of Dan. It's intersting that in the movie and is real nick name are the same. Morevover, for thai people, they have first name and last name. But mostly they call each other by nick name. Diew is a nick name of Chupong and Jaa is a nick name of Phanom. In my experienec, people don't call each other by real name except that it's a formal occasion. -------------------- What goes around comes around.
