the luc besson has got terrible rap music, and is cut more i think..

The Luc Besson version has cut some scene, but not the fight scenes.

well the Besson version is the one they must be selling here in america, cus i just bought mine today, and it has horrible techno/rap music in it that took place of the original stuff. I've been pretty mad about that one. ANd yes they cut out a few scenes. THe one that concerns Muay's sister when she argues about prostitution and school, and then when she dies. That was cut out. I cant remember any more deleted scenes. I have the original downloaded...I dont like the Luc Besson version really. But hey, at least i can watch it with english. I dont know any Thai. LOL. I gotta learn. Oh, and do I need to tell u that what was just said is a spoiler? Umm...the movie has been out for a while, but I didnt mean to spoil anything for anyone who hasnt seen it. Sorry.
anurak
lol... technically, you're supposed to give the warning before the spoiler. but seeing as how the movie has been out for years now, i think it's ok. 32_icon_mrg.gif

Hello CD
You could have bought the australian verion,it's not the luc besson version and the dvd bonus is + 2 hours.
I too have the french version,I agree with you;the rap music wastes the movie, the original thai music should have been kept in my opinion.

As a huge fanboy of Tony Jaa, i bought 2 dvds and 1 cd for ong bak alone. One is the mandarin version ,which i think is from Hong Kong. The other is the English version.

Hong Kong version:

Apparently there is a documentary of Jaa in Hong Kong. There is even a long real life demonstration of Jaa breaking woods infront of the crowds,my so sweet!

I love his Muay Boran warm ups, it looks so flasy and spectacular. With frontal, back and sideflips.Amazing, the crowds goes"woooooooooo!!!"

There is a footage where big bear gets floored multiple times by beta loop pak, and jaa offered a hand to pull big bear and give him a friendly tap on the chest. If you think beta loop pak is only acting, think again, coz that impact is pretty powerful.

English version:
Lots of cuts, quite dissapointing that they cut the elbow move on the last boss, coz its not time for him to die yet from that move.

I don't know why , theres no extra here, no documentary, well atleast there is a subtitle.

Luc Besson quality is better than Thai version in term of sound. (you'll notice the knocking opponent sound is packed and the background music is slightly louder, but its better if Luc keep thai background music)

the only thing i notice in term of cut is where Muay go to hospital and see her dead sister, which is not included in Luc Besson version.
