This is truly sad. Please be safe to those affected by the Earthquake and to those that were killed, RIP. I hope the Thai members on this board is alright.

Indeed... It really IS a sad thing... but most Thais can't afford to feel so sad about this. It is coldhearted but that is the unavoidable truth.

I'm just very very very glad that Thailand was one of the countries that got off "easy".

And I'm REALLY gratefull to all the nations in the world for their support and I'm proud to be a Norwegian now that they are sending help to those in needs, especially to my other half the Thai side of me.

I am just back from Thailand (I am in the US now) 2 hrs ago.

This new year is the saddest one I've ever experienced.

This is such a terrible disaster, and I hope all the board members here are safe too. The before and after pictures of the island that simplyworld posted are deeply saddening.

It is really good to see many countries uniting and providing aid to those effected in this disaster.

Yes, I'm very affected by that catastrophe [->see my post in "let's talk about you-->happy christmas"], and I gave 5? !!! (I know I'm a poor girl .... lol)
But, you know in Africa, there is one tsunami by month, because of the h.i.v, the famine, the poverty... this is really sad, and we continue to give some monney to these people.
