2thumbs.gif okay, this movie i highly recommend, whether or not your into the history of true skateboarding. not only does this movie focus on skateboarding, but also explains how venice, ca got its name & how abbott kinney tried to duplicate venice, italy. not to mention, how the pioneers of skateboarding were the actual first people ever to maneuver such accomplishments as taking flight above a vertical wall & coming back into the pool successfully! the dogtown crew helped enable to create the art of skateboarding to what it has become today. if you decide to watch this, an ideal follow up film would be "the lord's of dogtown", this would be the hollywood version in which does not include very important role models in which made dogtown what it is today.

Yes, I agree. This documentary is much better than the Hollywood "Lords of Dogtown" version. It brought back memories of when I was a kid, flipping through skating mags, wishing I could do anything that remotely resembled what the Z-Boys could do. (Which goes to show how old I am) Of course, I sucked. 04_wink.gif
