Ong Bak 2!!! Woww!! I cant wait for TYG to hit UK cinemas!!! I go mad for anything about Panom!! I gush to all my family!!! They ALL know about him!!! He's such a considerate person, really caring about the people he works with. He's so amazing!! I wonder how good at directing he is!! Probably as good as everything else he tries.... AMAZING!!!

I am still wondering if this will actually be a continuation of the first Ong Bak. Is Ting returning? He ended up becoming a monk in the first film and his character wasn't about fighting in tournaments. He simply wanted to obtain the Buddha's head. So the story line of the sequel sounds suspect. It doesn't sound like a continuation of the first one.

it's not actually a sequel. they're just using the title for recognition.
read around on the forum and on the main page and i'm sure you'll find a lot of information about this.

Here is what Tony Jaa said about ONG BAK 2 in an interview at AICN:
C: What is next for you. I've been reading two things: One is that you're preparing for ONG-BAK II, and then there's another film called SWORD?
TJ: SWORD is on the back burner for the time being. We will be doing it later.
In the next film, ONG-BAK II, this really comes from my heart and from my spirit. I have already many scenes, action scenes in my head. I've already filled up my head. I will be directing the film as well. It will be a period piece. You will see a lot of Muay Thai that you have never seen before. It will be a very interesting new Muay Thai movie, but there will also be ancient Thai weaponry used. There will be elephants involved in the movie as well, and they will be part of the action.
C: Will you be playing the same character, or will it be a completely different story?
TJ: I will be a different character and a different story.

for many people, as soon as they think of tony jaa, they think of ong bak.
in order to gain easy recognition from international film distributors and audience alike, sahamongkol decided to use "ong bak 2" as the title of their next project. whether it turns out to be the actual title of the movie or not is yet to be determined.

OB2 is a fine name for commercial purpose both in Thailand and outside.
"The Bodyguard 2" is almost finished. This time the director said Tony Jaa will play some joke, not only fihgt.
