definitely has more footage than vcd or dvd

maybe the rumors of extended fight scenes for north american release are true, and maybe this footage was leaked somehow !!
hauntofmars
It was awesome right!!? I wonder where this guy got it from, i already sent him an email asking where and what version he has...so ill let ya guys know, really cool stuff i knew that scene was edited funny! 0235.gif

Damn, haha, I watched it with my UNCUT labeled Korea version in my lap playing along, but still that online has definitely more, seems my DVD mainly cuts on people running in, and probably like 20 or so more legs and arm breaks each XD, also shows more of him twisting them into positions, I think some just wanted to speed up the pace of the action on some DVDs, but I too Am curious what version that is. 18_drool.gif

hmmm, browsing online, this one is 120 minutes long, while all others such as on yes asia are 110

So there is also an unrated or unedited version, or what? Could the clip above be an action bonus from a DVD?
I found these links from yesasia.com and hkflix.com. Are these 110 min DVD releases not the same as the one in the link posted by Wolf above? They have the same release date and the HK publisher EDKO. It looks like only the HK release from play-asia.com is 120 min. The HK VCD from play-asia.com is also 120 min. Could it just be a mistake, but I would like it, if anyone could confirm or disprove it.

The guy that posted the vid told me he doesnt know...that a friend of his gave him the clip a long time ago...very strange yeahrite.gif
Wolf
maybe play asia just defalted the time to 120 on their info. cause every where else is 110, so I doubt its really 120.
hauntofmars
Its just so strange ive looked all over the net for any other sources for this vid......and nothing, its just odd, has anyone here seen this footage before? Like in a theater somewhere? Something tells me this is the Hong Kong VCD with the low quality cuz its very dark..i dont know, but if this is cut...then there has to be more extended footage...Cant wait for that N. American release! 011_happy.gif

This added stuff to the scene was pretty new to me 04_blink.gif

It was interesting to see segments that were cut from the actual scene in the movie, but I came to the conclusion that I prefer the original movie version of the scene because its more fast paced and exciting.

One of the critics who was one of the very first to see the scene commented that the bone breakathon was too long and got dull. I'd say I would agree with him.

It would be cool to have an option if there were to be a director's cut dvd to either turn the scene to uncut version on or turn it to the cut version. lol.

I personally liked the unedited version, now it doesnt look so weird without all those weird cuts and bodys appearing and dissapperaing out of nowhere, thats just me. But that idea would be great too have an edition like that, in fact thats probably what there gonna do, but the question still remains where did this footage come from? 28_suspect_.gif
Wolf
It came from our Imaginations *Gasp!*

that or some pre release, with the video being dark and untouched kind of look

This version is way better, could there also be more to the other fight scenes? 02_biggrin.gif

I'm not aware of an extended Tom Yum Goong version with extra footage. However, I've watched this fight sequence with the "Men in Black" many times and can tell you that this exact footage is it in the two-disc Thai DVD which I highly recommend (purchased from ethaicd.com).

I forgot to mention that the two-disc Thai DVD is PAL, Zone 3. So check to make sure that you can play this before ordering. (I myself have an all-region, dual NTSC / PAL, multiformat player that'll play anything from anywhere).

ronin, unless you have a different TYG dvd from me (i also bought mine from ethaicd) then you are incorrect. i'm literally watching them side-by-side right now (youtube in one small window, dvd in another small window, and this post in yet another small window), and the scenes are the same only for the first 10-15 seconds. after that, the dvd is more edited, cleaner, quicker. the youtube version that hauntofmars posted contains more badguys, is edited less, etc.

Hi Thawan. I have the Thai two-disc special edition DVD -- the one with Tony on the front standing while holding an elephant bone in each hand. This is on the slipcase (the DVD cover is a bit different). You're probably right Thawan since I didn't take the time to compare them side by side. I simply watched each one separately and couldn't recall anything different. Either way. I'm glad you finally get a chance to watch it. 02_biggrin.gif

I downloaded the Thai version off bitorrent with English subtitles. Hey don't beat me up yet! I'm going to buy it when it comes out on American DVD!

Anyways I watched the youtube video and the actual fight scene back to back and I didn't notice any differences really.

So except for the "Men in Black" scene. Is there anything more than the original release in the thai dual DVD?

BTW: Any subs on it?
anurak
no subs. the extended youtube-version is definitely not from the thai dvd. like i said, i watched them side-by-side and they are quite different. the thai dvd (as far as the movie itself goes) is the same as the thai vcd. i'm not sure about korean version though; haven't seen it yet. the korean version supposedly had subtitles, but is no longer for sale and no loner in print.
