Star behind the scene was an interview with Panna Rittikrai on a tv program.
...................................
Panna, the early years:
"My real name is Grittiya Latpanna.....my teacher kept
thinking it was a woman's name. It means someone
who has power."
"I've always been obsessed with action....i was crazy
about Bruce Lee. But when he passed away, I watched Jackie Chan's films instead."
"When I finished high school, I then continued on to
physical education at Mahasankam. After class is over,
I would be on my way home...but i would go in this
place where they were rehearsing an action scene.
While I was there, I was having fun practicing by myself. I was imagining that 4-5 people were swarming together to beat me up. People who saw me were dumbfounded and thought I was going crazy."
"I first got into the movie business when I choreographed for "Payak Yi Ge". I met with the director and demonstrated some moves for him. He didn't say anything about it.. He just told me to pack up my bags and go to the movie set."
"I was a stuntman for "Ai Pahng Rafot". I had to fight on top of a train. I had to be kicked and fly over a bogie. I left the director and production team stunned. The reason I had to go up to the top of the train was because I was afraid the main actress would fall off the train. The train was really running and I really did go up the train. If the actress falls off, it's all over."
"I got the chance to make my own movie. I produced it and wrote it. I was also the cameraman, so I would have to set it and then run in front of the camera. Sometimes I would make two movies at once."
His first movie, Born to Fight:
"I didn't wait around for any profits...I invested in it more than anyone else. Usually, for a movie like this people invest about 200,000 -- I invested 500,000. It was unheard of for a movie like this. But I wanted quality."
"I've only gotten hurt once during these productions. It was an easy scene. I was supposed to climb and have someone yank me down onto the ground. That's when I broke my left arm. It's probably because I underestimated it -- assuming it was an easy scene. I was being careless and wasn't careful enough."
"After that I was more cautious about the scenes. Whether it's easy or difficult, I must always consider the safety precautions. And you must be in good physical health in order to survive."
Working with Prachya Pinkaew:
"Mr. Prachya liked the work I did in "Born to Fight". We planned to do something together. We didn't come
to a conclusion just yet. It was just a first acquaintance with one another. It was just a regular conversation."
"I liked Panna in "Born to Fight". It had some good action like no other movie," says Prachya. At the time, I was working with Grammy. I called and asked to speak with him again. I found out afterwards that he drove all the way from the province of Korngaen just to talk to me and drove back home. I thought he was living in Bangkok."
Time passed and Prachya finally says to Panna: Hey, let's do an action film together, but different from those of Hong Kong.
"Once I got that concept from Prachya, I sat down and thought,"How am I going to go about this? If we're not going to fight the Hong Kong style, then we'll use Muay Thai! But I wasn't sure what moves of muay Thai to put in the movie. Then I saw a commercial with people in traditional muay Thai
uniform battling one another. That's when an idea spark that I would show Muay Thai as clear and pure as possible."
"I set up an audition to find the star of this film. I chose Ja Panom. I had Ja demonstrate 15 Muay Thai moves. It was horrendous. He had become too accustomed to the Chinese style of fighting. He had to make some adjustments before the actual filming. But Ja Panom is very talented. He's clever, has a good memory, and displays the art of Muay of Thai beautifully. He can also jump further than anyone. That's when we prepared demos to show Prachya and we succeeded."
Born to Fight, The 60 million remake:
"After Ong Bak, Sia Jiang asked me to make another movie. I thought about it : The reason Ja Panom is working with us is because he's seen "Born to Fight" and really liked it.. And Prachya is working with us because he also saw "Born to Fight." If I was to make another movie at the time, it would have to be "Born to Fight". It seemed like the appropriate thing to do."
"The name of the movie and the action is pretty much the same. But everything else is different. Anything I couldn't do before, I could do in this new version to the fullest. Now I can sit behind the monitor and watch rather than having to run up and perform it myself. We have 3 assistants to look after film
actors/actresses. Any time we need help or want something, they're always there to help us out. I don't feel as troubled as before."
"As for the team who are risking their lives, this time it's a bit more brutal. But of course everything has be safe and properly planned."
"Prachya: There are scenes that Panna has asked if we could just take various shots and put them together or use the blue screen. I would respond with a no. We have to do this for real. No CG or special techniques of any kind. If you have to fall from a ten-wheeled truck, you will fall from it for real. But find a way to make it safe though."

Things on the other forums are basically things that went on during his day at the movie set.
He was explaining the food they served at the set. The chef, Mae Daeng was a very good cook.

He was taking pictures for the game. He saw Tony and got a chance to wave at him.

Whenever it's not time for his scene, he'll be doing splits to stretch his leg muscles.
When he was showing Prachya the work he's done, he took the chance to sit on his directing chair.

Panna came over to sit next to him. Then he pulled out his Born to Fight vcd and asked Panna to sign it. He asked about Diew Chupong and Panna says he's now in training for his next movie.
