Actually it's a book about Ong-Bak, not about Tony Jaa right ?

Just to add anecdotes around ong bak:

Steven Seagal was interested to have Jaa in his new movie after the release of ong bak during his stay in Thailand;but he couldn't afford Jaa because Prachya had asked him several million $ to let him "borrow" Jaa.

I have read in a french magazine (magazine UGC ) that Chan had criticized ong bak because of its violence. He thought that one shouldn't make such violent movies like ong bak because you have responsabilities towards youth .Chan had told during his interview that he wouldn't make violent movies anymore like he did at the beginning of his career.
Looks like Jackie Chan is jealous of Jaa.For me, it confirms that Jaa has better martial skills than the Jackie Chan of the beginning .And I guess that both Jackie and Tony in the same movie is unlikely to happen.Any thoughts?

As for Jet Li, he called Jaa after watching ong bak and congratulated him .It seems that he was impressed by the performance of Jaa.A future collaboration is possible between them as they respect each other,I think..

Steven Seagal is a fatass whos not worthy enough to be in a movie with Tony Jaa. 02_biggrin.gif

I think Jackie and Tony are special in their own way. I wouldn't say one is better than the other because their different. Same with Jet Li. I believe Jackie and Tony are good friends actually because Tony keeps saying how much he loves Jackie Chan work. Who knows for sure. Personally, I love to see Jackie Chan and Tony Jaa in a movie. Or Jet and Tony in a movie. Either way is good to me.

I think Jaa has his own way, if Chan said the way Jaa has performed on the screen was too 'violent' I may agree with Chan, but hey, if Jaa change his style and do funny things like Chan, he is not suitable either. It will be hard for me to see Jaa act on the screen and do a funny and non-violent action scenes. Come on, people have their own preferences, some might love Chan's style, but some might be dying to see Jaa crush the bone (hihihi). I think many Hollywood movies are much more violent than Ong Bak like Kill Bill, Casino, Scream, etc. That's why they have to rate the movie, Ong Bak is R-rate which children can not see the movie without their parents also. And I don't think people will do a violent things after they have seen the violent movie. (sorry for my English)

I don't think that he's that kind of guy. Steven only plays tough characters in his movies, and movies don't reflect who he is .Actually,he is a spiritual individual.

As for his martial skills, he is one of the most graduates aikido masters;he currently holds a 7 th dan black belt in aikido;that's very high. Tony is not that high, though he is very skilled, and I am sure that he could reach this level too .
Why not both-Tony and Steven- in the same movie ? It could be great to have fight scenes Jaa vs Seagal.

No offence to Steven Seagal fans out there but I think hes a joke. Hes boring as an action star. His physical conditon is poor. He lacks the dynamic flair or agility to make an exciting action movie. Whenever I see him run, he runs like a girl. I'm being blunt, no joke. He doesn't even do his own fight scenes anymore. This is just my opinion.
ongkot
hahahaaa.

Seagal have done a movie in Thailand while ago. I didn't watch the movie yet.
But lots of my friend told me that it's crappy.

Steven Seagal loves asiatique culture. I confirm he is a spiritual man. I saw him in a french tv.

I like his fight style too.

Did you heard his song ? Very nice balad...

His clip video was turn in Thailand, and there is a girl Thai who is very beautiful !!

After reading an article you decided Jackie´s skills are inferior to Tony´s? Now that´s really something... Take a good look at Jackie´s older movies, ones like Snake in the Eagle´s Shadow, Drunken Master 1&2, The Young Master, Wheels on Meals, Project A & Project A part 2 etc. and you´ll see there´s nothing wrong with Jackie´s skills. Nowadys, the difference is he is already 51 years old... But boy, can he still move! I hope I can move around like that when I hit the 50s...!

I think the reason why Jackie might feel jealous and/or threatened is that past 20 years he has been the brightest star of the action movies; he has been the standard to whom other action actors have been compared to. And now, out of blue comes this new guy and sets the standard with his first leading role, and he´s using the same tools (except the comedy) which set Jackie apart from the other performers. And all this happens while Jakie´s new movies, especially the Hollywood ones, haven´t been anything special...
anurak
it's a shame that there has to be jealousy involved. it's not like tony's movies will be taking business away from jackie's movies. people aren't going to stop going to see jackie's movies because of tony.
UltraMaster2000
Sometimes people tend to forget that these guys are only humans, after all. They have their feelings, cravings and motivations just like the rest of us and we have to accept that, we like it or not.

But maybe Jackie isn´t jealous, maybe seeing Tony performing just makes him finally feel his age. Maybe he is thinking "that used to be me...".

I´m only guessing here, just wanted to bring a new point of view into this conversation...
