Now it has not been confirmed yet, but more and more of the cast keep saying that Venom is indeed in Spider-Man 3. It has been confirmed that Sandman will be a villain in the new film. But Dunst hinted to there being about "two and a half" villains in SM3 (Sandman, Venom, and Hobgoblin). Topher Grace went on to say that Venom will appear towards the latter part of the film. Wether these guyrs are spilling the beans or just distracting the readers is unknown.

But it is also confirmed, and there are pictures, of Spider-Man in the black costume. The black Spider-Man is a key part in the Venom symbiote story arc. So hopefully, Venom will appear in all his all-powerful, evil, twisted, ugly glory.

I can't wait to see this one!!! It is going to rock, personally I was hoping for Rhino, but the ones I've heard of are cool too! My favorite part is trying to spot the Comic Book God, Stan Lee in his cameos!!

what's the release date?
Thedeman87
Believe it's May 7th, 2007.

See what I love about this Venom story is, not only do you see Spider-Man wear the black uniform (which is already in the Spider-Man 3 teaser poster) but introducing Venom will take the series in a darker direction. They will almost definitly make him scary. And more importatnly, Venom opens up the door for the real badass, CARNAGE.

Carnage is pretty scary!! 02_biggrin.gif

I just can't wait to see Tobey again!

SM is really a darker comic, with some comic relief thrown in. I hate when people go see comic book movies and then say the movie was stupid especailly when it follows the comic. I feel like yelling at them, if you don't read the comic then don't complain!!!!
Thedeman87
Not only that but I can't stand it the fanboy types hate on movie because it doesn't follow the comic exactly. Like, for instance, look at what people are complaining about with x-Men 3.

All the bad reviews come from A) critics (who for some reason believe that the 3rd film should always be better than the first two, but this is very rarely the case) and B) Obsessive fanboys that think of Hugh Jackman is too tall to play Wolverine, or Gambit wasn't in it, or Angel didn't do much, or they wanted to see Magneto rip the adamantium from Wolverine ect. ect.

First of all, a movie is a work of art. Just copying something exactly from the comic is not art. Let the director work. Anyway, anybody who just wanted to see a cool action movie and have fun LOVED it. I don't know as much about X-Men as I do Spider-Man or Spawn, but this movie definitly got me more interested in it more. I felt liie watching the cartoon on Fox 5 that used to be on.

the comic books are infinitely superior to the movies. there's more room for character development, more intricate storylines and storytelling... they draw you in more. that being said, despite that i felt that the storyline of xmen 1 & 2 were inferior to the original comic book stories, i did enjoy them for what they were, without comparing them too much to the comics. still waiting on x3 though.

and hugh jackman may be too tall to play wolverine, but 1) wolverine should never have been written as 5'4 or whatever, and 2) hugh jackman is awesome as wolverine.
Thedeman87
Yeah I agree.

oops... i posted my xmen rant in the spider-man thread. i meant to rant about spider-man. well, here goes...

first, i like the spider-man movies. they're great fun. but (and here i am comparing the movie to the comic sweatingbullets.gif ) it's just not as good as the comic book. in the original comic book, spidey's first love is not mary jane, but a girl named gwen stacey. you know in that scene where spidey has to make a choice about saving the group of people or saving mary jane? in the original comic book spidey has to make a choice - the people or gwen stacey. he ultimately chooses to save the people, and gwen stacey actually dies. this is one of the most defining moments of spidey's life. death is a huge thing to deal with, and this changes his life forever. gwen stacey's death affects every decision in spidey's life, and in my opinion he's just not the same character in the movie.

but whatever. the spider-man movie story is more conducive to a hollywood blockbuster with multiple sequels, and it is a fun series so i'm not complaining too much.

YES.

I really love Venom, he makes me go into fangirl jitters. I loved playing him in the video game(PS1)...I think I'll go play it now! 02_biggrin.gif
