We may see that there are some cuts in TYG did not appear in its theatrical version. For example, the scene that Tony fights with a dozen of villians in the house of Sia Suthep (the house where they were singing an old Thai song). Fortunately, at the time of shooting that scene, some other production team were there too. The team is from a Thai documentary movie called 'Suea Ronghai' (aka in English: Crying Tiger (2005))

In that documentary movie, the director wanted to represent some tough lives of I-saan people who work in Bangkok. (I-Saan is the northeastern part of Thailand, the homeland of Tony). And yes, there was an I-Saan stuntman whose name is Nate Insri-Lhek working in TYG team with Tony, and the director wanted to see how life of Nate was in that tough work. He appeared in the scene I mention above. He said that working with his hero Tony is what to fulfill his greatest dream of his life, even though the work is full of his Hero's kicking in the face!

Therefore, I would like to capture some pictures from the movie and paste those pics here. Surely, Tony is in those rare pics with Nate. Though they are from TYG, they appeared in another movie.

I think that it is possible for you to find the DVD of the movie 'Crying Tiger' in Malaysia or in the net. But I did not have a strong recommendation for this movie to Tony's fans, because Tony did not appear much. I buy the DVD in Thailand only because I would like to collect some rare pictures of Tony. And also to collect some behind-the-scene pics of TYG. , especially those pics in the deleted scenes. Ah, but if you can find it in a sale price, or you are interested to see how a struggling life of a stuntman can be, I hope you may enjoy it.

It is not the uncut version of TYG, Drunken Boxer.
It is only the documentary movie in which some uncut scenes of TYG appeared, but not much.

Some of this footage was shown in the Making of Tom Yum Goong VCD. The fight was originally longer. I remeber a part when one bad guy was on the ground after getting knock out and he pick up a bottle but Tony smash the bottle with a short kick and the glass flew into the guys face.

oh cool! But why that they cut scenes? because the movie would have be too much longer?

Ah yes. We were told that it is about the running time of the entire movie. But the deleted scenes may appear later in an extra DVD. (We were told about that too, but not confirmed)

I think that another reason is about the fighting scene that should be considered a 'grand opening'. You may see that the first fighting scene of TYG is that Tony jumps from the height and gives a hard knee-kick to a villain. It is so touching that the scene should not be preceded by another fighting scene. Unfortunately, the scene of Tony with Nate the stuntman, according to the old track of TYG plot, came before that touching scene. (Tony fights with the henchmen downstair first, including Nate). But with that reason, the scene of Tony and Nate did not make a cut in its theatrical version. But at least I hope that one day we will see the complete version, and hope that we would not have to wait for long.
