TYG came out in cinema in the UK today and i went to see it and i personally loved it. but one point i would like to raise is the publicity the film gets. i've only seen the commercial once in two weeks on TV and it was the same with Ong Bak. i went onto the BBC site also and they havent even got the film as out today (but they do have a review of it = 4/5 stars out of 5 02_biggrin.gif ) they seriously need to put more into the publicity of the film.
I really need to register at som
Wow, I didn't even know there were any tv ads! All I've seen is one poster in the London Underground... It's had a really limited release too - I live in the Midlands and it's hardly on anywhere, so I've yet to see it outside of my thai vcd.

It's crazy - the only reason Tony's not as huge here as he is in France for example is the really limited marketing campaign. Every single person who I've shown Ong Bak to absolutely loves the guy and there's definitely a big audience for Tony in England, especially amongst students...oh well, hopefully word of mouth will pick up on Warrior King and Ong Bak 2 will be huge!

I agree... There must be a reason for that but too bad the Tony Jaa's films only have a limited released in the UK and the US. It'd be a big hit!

Same in Germany!
My roommates showed me Ong Bak last July.
If they wouldn´t have done it, I wouldn´t know a man called Tony Jaa.
I never saw any posters or other commercial.
Almost the same for TYG.
Only one pic on plate (same like for OB, TJ from behind showing his back)
and maybe one little poster inside of the cinema,
but nothing outside that would make people curious.
There were three little posters of Born To Fight,
but it was very very easy not to see them.
Every of my friends loved OB, too.
Like Sawatdee said,
it would be a big hit in Germany, too,
if would do more commercial for his work.

Just saw it myself for the first time!

Personally I dont see how it can be compared to Ong-bak. They are both very different in scope as I saw it.

But blimeh me did I enjoy it! rofl.gif Oh the fights and the rage in his eyes and the sheer power of his style....I remember why I love his movies in the first place again.

yeah, we have to rely on word of mouth to get people to see it. when i showed it to my friends last year they all loved it and about 15 of them have even taken up muay thai. absolutely everyone i know loves Tony Jaa. if they want Tony to be star in the UK and USA, they really need to sort it out.

Well I did my bit. I wrote into a video game section on teletext and told them about it:

Come on everyone. We need to promote this film like crazy because the distributors are doing nothing! It will be out of the cinema in a week or two.
