According to a couple of sites December 26. I am not positive about this however. Also HKFlix has a preorder set up but I am not sure if it says when it will be released.

I wonder what's on the second disc. Maybe they will release the uncut version its doubtful, but something to hope for. And one more question WTF is up with the Katana on the back cover. Noone uses a Katana in the movie!

Just saw a TV commercial for the U.S. DVD release of "The Protector" which is coming out this Tuesday (January 16th). Again, I'm annoyed at the "Quentin Tarantino presents" advertisement... which to me is somewhat misleading. Anyhow, just thought I'd bring it up again. I know that many here who have missed the theatrical release would love to pick up a DVD copy of their own or check one out in the rental stores.

I knew that it was weird and I still don'y understand it. Is it because they want to sell or just something else. Well well..

Is that true? 25_dribble.gif
Anyway, I already decided to purchase this item from amazon.com no matter with or without the deleted scene. 18_drool.gif But if anyone had this DVD, please let us know if there was any of the deleted scene. flowers.gif Thank you.

it would be great if it's true !! i'm afraid that it might mean the fight scenes that were deleted from the original thai version when changed to us version? anyway, i hope it's true! it would be the only reason for me to buy the us dvd!

I just got the DVD and it is in fact true!!! The deleted fight scene occurs just prior to Tony's opening flying knee strike. It's actually more of extended scene that shows more of the lounge fight in the beginning. All in all I found this release to be very well done it had plenty of extras and both versions of the film.

I forgot how bad they edited the U.S. version of the movie. I havent seen it since it came out in theaters and man was I suprised at the differences in both. I am so glad they released a double disc. The unedited international release just flows so much more with no gaps in the storyline. I had to explain to my father when we watched the U.S. version who the hell this person was and that person was so that it would make sense to him. Also I'm sorry, I am a very big follower of RZA's music, but he did a horrible job on the soundtrack. I know he has mad love for Tony Jaa but he should have well enough alone. I started cracking up when he's trying to explain the reasoning behind adding the techno here in that scene or the hard rock for this scene. It was fine the way it was RZA. Also the punchs, breaks, and yells were inaudible, felt like I needed a hearing aid to watch it. I say to Dragon Dynasty, Quentin Tarrentino, and RZA thanks for influencing the release of Tony Jaa's films and other films to the U.S. But if all possible, dont butcher anymore of the films that you release (which wont happen) with your non-cultured, money grubbing, smug hands. Sorry it's the truth, even my little sister said the U.S. release sucked and she's 10 yrs. old.

I love The Protector DVD!!! 32_icon_mrg.gif I absolutely love all of the special features. I have not watched the second disc yet, but I am planning on doing that tonight. 01_smile.gif "The making of Tony Jaa" in the special features on the first disc is great and so is the Tony Jaa martial arts demonstrations and the "No Wires Attatched: Making the Protector." 32_icon_mrg.gif I just love it all! Thank you to everyone who was involved in making this movie for sharing their talents with the world and thank you to Tony Jaa for sharing your talents with the world! 32_icon_mrg.gif I wish Tony Jaa and everyone else involved in this movie nothing but the very best in everything that they do and in all areas of your lives. 32_icon_mrg.gif That goes for everyone on this board and website too. 32_icon_mrg.gif Take care now.

Sincerely,
Becky
