is it also a comedy? in the imdb site "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0427954/"
it says it´s also a comedy but i can´t see in what perspective will it be...well jackie makes comedy and action together but i can´t see Tony Jaa making those type of movies...at least for now if u know what i mean..and i wouldn´t like it very much.. 04_wink.gif
Ong-Bak had some comedy parts, but in the description of the movie in imdb doesn´t say it´s a comedy "http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0368909/"... so i presume Tom Yum Goong will be more intense in the comedy genre...what do you think?

I think it's called action / comedy because there will be some funny moments thanks to Mum Jokmok (like in Ong-Bak)
EyeOfTheTiger
hehe ye well but this time will be more intense parts of comedy..since it is in the genre description of the movie  whatever it will be one of the coolest movie ever anyway 02_biggrin.gif 02_biggrin.gif ..i just wanted to clarify this 04_wink.gif
Sawatdee
ok it's clarified.
Goddessy
Judging by the trailer, the whole thing was serious. They didn't show any sign of comedy. Hmm...looks like we won't know how funny it will be until August! 010_freak.gif But one thing's for sure, a whole lotta AcTiON!! 25_dribble.gif

I wonder if the fight scenes of TYG will overcome the fight scenes of Ong Bak.It took 4 years for OB to be made and released whereas it will have taken 1 year to make and launch TYG worldwide ( 12 august release). In my opinion,it would be hard to create better fight scenes than OB's, all the more difficult when there's only 1 year to make and release TYG.
Any thoughts ?

Well yeah they were able to film tyg for over a year because they incorporated the experience from filming ongbak for 4 years. Thats valuable skills they have gained since. IMO, I believe that the scenes will overcome the fight scenes of ongbak because they got a whole cast of great talented martial artists like Johnny Ngyuen who won gold medals from the pan american form of kungfu, sword play. Jon Foo, great gymnast, acrobatic, skilled in kungfu. Lateef Crowder skilled in capoeira from zero gravity, and Nathan Jones who used to compete in K1. I've seen some videos of him demonstrating some powerful kicks. And finally I'm sure Tony Jaa has become much greater in skill benefitting from his 8 hour a day training routine. Thats probably how he could have the stamina to make the 4 minute uncut fight scene a success I guess.

I think that Tony Jaa will get better in every film he will make/star in! The cast and crew aswell!

And I guess every new film for him is another challenge, presumably a better and harder challenge!

He has waited a long time and I am sure after having watched alot of the behind the scenes on this website that he has alot more to show us all! Plus I bet he is learning new things all the time! I.e. looking at old manuscripts of fighting techniques, or reading Ancient stories etc. Meeting people....

He is an inspiring person! And I believe he has not reached his peak yet! And when he does, I hope he keeps it-his peak as long as he can! Hopefully forever! :P

I know and I hope in future, maybe not in TYG, it would be too soon! But I do hope that one day, one of his future films has the most awesome and inspiring fight scenes ever! And it is one of the longest fight scenes aswell! WOW! I can't wait! (dreaming...!) Or just the greatest fight scene ever imaginable!

Tony Jaa and his teacher(?) and crew are very creative! And I hope they continue with what they have and push it again to another level! What is the next level??? Anyway back to reality!

All the best, have a nice weekend people!

I didn't know TYG has a little bit of comedy. I always thought it was an all out action film. I'll have to watch it again.

I think the movie is going to use light comedic touches to kind of break the tension if it gets little too serious for their liking. I think it'll still come out okay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_PMF8ODhxcc , its probably old news but it just gets me excited to see the The Protector when it comes out in the states finally. I think I'll go watch Ong Bak actually :)
anurak
there is very, very little comedy in the movie.
