Will there or has there been a release of Tom Yum Goong that has extra fight footage like the longer bone break scene that's on youtube ?
The youtube scene is dark and pixelated. I'd love to see it dvd quality.
Why have non of the larger companies like HKL or Dragon Dynasty, not tried to get exclusive fight footage, even though they exist (youtube for example) ?

Oh on a later note on the US dvd when i watched "the making of tom yum goong" they showed the footage they left out of the burning temple scene where he takes out the thugs by sliding on the water and kneeing them, it was really cool! they shouldve left it in but im sure they had a good reason for leaving it out. Thats the only extra footage ive seen besides the extended bone breaking scene. Maybe their holding it out to release some kind of extra special edition DVD where it will be accessed on there, who knows? Also i posted a topic like this awhile back asking for the same thing, no one really had an answer, sorry Forcedv... :( if i get anything ill post it here.

The UK release of Warrior King is nice, but still contains the shorter (same as Thai dvd) bone break scene.
All these companies put in so much effort getting interviews and other bits and peices for thier dvd release, but NOBOBY got the extra fight footage.
Most people love Tony Jaa because he brings something totally unique to action cinema...FRESH IDEAS....and they want to see him kick ass....so why not give us what we want....the extra fight footage ??????
These companies spend all that money changing the score and paying someone to re-edit the movie because they think it will sell more....BUT all they have to do is put previously un-used fight footage on their dvd and fans all over the World will buy that dvd.
I doubt there will ever be a new Thai dvd of Tom Yum Goong special edition, because the Weinsteins control most of the World distribution rights.
I hope I'm wrong.

yeah he sure is a breath of fresh air, i look at other action movies and im like they used a stunt double, or it wasnt as good as "insert tony jaa movie here". Hopefully we can get extra footage, but if you want that link to youtube i gave ya, you can use a program to rip the vid out and by using a video editor brighten up the footage and convert it to a new format like MPEG 4 or whatever preference you want.

..problem is, the source footage on youtube is pixelated, so theres very little any conversion program can do to make it look much better, besides brighten it up.
I get the feeling that this footage on youtube was originally released by the company to advertise Tom Yum Goong, because it was on youtube before any official DVD.
My second guess is, it's from a VCD that was released in some country shortly after it's cinema release, but before the dvd.
Does anyone in this forum actually own an original VCD of Tom Yum Goong that was released before the dvd ?

Actually I do, i bought the Thai VCD right when it came out, and this footage is not from there, maybe in another version but as far as everyone knows the thai version is the most complete out there, everyone else either got the same version or a more edited version of the movie.

Does anyone on this forum actually have contact with anyone involved with Tom Yum Goong or it's distribution ?
Maybe we can get some info on any furure dvd releases that the Director mentioned at one of the press/test screenings ?

I
[b] saw Tom Yum Goong a while back and I have to say it is an amazing movie.Fight scenes are so well done you just want to watch them over again.
Anyway, while I was watching behind the scenes I noticed few strange cuts that were made. The version I have is the Thai cut with no deleted scenes or extended ones.
The cuts that were made was infact the extended first fight before the speed boat action scene,Tony Jaa's high flying elbow hit at Sydeny (Australian) bridge, extended temple fight in which Jaa fights two guys at the same time (you can see these two laying on the floor unconcious),extended bone-breaking in which Jaa fights 70 mafia men and extended second fight between Jaa and Nathan Jones a.k.a T.K. These are the ones that are missing from the Thai version I have. I just want to know which version of TYG has the original longer cut?

A couple of months ago I was browsing through a website called www.stuntpower.com
On that website I saw picthers of Dean Alaxandrou and Dan O Neil. You might not know who they are, but I will tell you anyway.
Those are the guys who fight Tony Jaa inside the burning temple, which later was cut from the Director's cut version. You should check out Dean Alexandrou's websits on www.stuntpower.com
It has cool stills of Jaa knocking them out.
I also feel sorry for Dean Alexandrou because he trying to get the whole fight scene himself.
Also, someone keep informed about the director's cut version of Tom Yum Goong release.
Thanks.
