I am sorry. I don't know the name of that temple.
But on thing I do know is the bulding behind him (in the first picture).
That bulding belongs to a bank in Thailand (Thai Farmer Bank). The building sits next to the Chao Phya river, and the free way. From this point of view, I believe that the temple is also next to the river but on the other side of the water.

here is a picture taken from the other side of the riverbank... it was taken from my good friend's condo. she used to work at the bank (Kasikorn Bank Thai) so her commute to and from work used to be just crossing the bridge! she works somewhere else now because she didn't like the bank job.

anyway, here is the picture... sorry i can't help you with the temple though.

by the way, when ting and don crash the tuk-tuk into the river, they crash into the chao phya river, and you can see both the bridge (Rama IX bridge) and the Kasikorn Bank Thai in the picture!

Thanks Thawan Daeng because when I saw the picture you posted I recognized an article I've seen on Asa's website here : http://blog.nankoku.hiho.jp/?day=20050225
http://www.cv.titech.ac.jp/~niwa-lab/membe...c/niwa_thai.htm

If I understand well, there are 3 temples :
・Wat Thong Bon
・Wat Dok Mai
・Wat Sai

Just have to found now which one is the good temple :)
ongkot
I found the web site of Wat Dokmai. (Wat Buppa)

I looked at buildings, but I could not find any bulding match the on in the movie.

here is the site.

We wish to express our gratitude for your information. I go to Bangkok in May,
and I want to search for this temple.
There is a temple said WATSON to the south of the bank building and the bridge,
and I think that the place in the photograph there. 28_suspect_.gif
In a word, I think that the temple is not an opposite bank in the building but the same district.
Thank you your information ..wish to express our gratitude by us... 02_biggrin.gif

here's another shot of the Rama IX Bridge and Kasikorn Bank Thai.

the wat in question is probably on the same side of the riverbank as the bank building; when we see ting praying, we see the back of the bank building (the side that doesn't face the river).

I am sorry man. I have no idea where I can find information for you.

But one suggestion I can give is this.
When you got to the place around there. Just ask local people. They are very friendly, but their English is not so good. You might have to explain them or show the picture of the temple. Or show them your map, then they can circle the temple for you. : )
Actually that is a fun part, too, if you like challenge.
I used to do something like lonely planet, too.

Have fun in bangkok. : )

A lot of thanks for everyone!
yes, I'm also looking for the temple. because that temple is very beautiful..
and I'm very glad that you think about that.

So, I guess the temple is maybe WAT SON, from identification and verification of positional relation of The bank and the bridge (Rama IX). 04_wink.gif

I really hope that I someday go to Bangkok and see by myself. Thailand is a country I would love to visit most now.
There are many Buddhism temples in Japan, but there are some difference from Thai. Japanese temples are less decorative and not colorful.
I respect the own ways have each cultures, and I interest in Thai temples and Buddhism.

For ‚i‚?‚?‚?‚Ž‚…‚?‚“‚…?@‚s‚?‚Ž‚™?f‚“, have a good trip!

If you like that kind of song, I have a song for you to try listening.

It's a soundtrack of a movie name The Overture (Hom Rong).
I think they released soundtracks of this movie already.

If you like the song, I think you can find it at ethaicd also.

And please tell me what you think. 02_biggrin.gif

Ohhhh. I forgot one thing.
The name of the song I sent to you is "Kum Warn"(¤ÓËÇÒ¹).
It means "sweet words."

And here is the link for the OST in ethaicd.

I hope it might help a little bit.

Thanks a lot I love that song. Now I want to watch the movie too 01_smile.gif
Unfortunately, the soundtrack isn't available anymore on ethaicd... but I found it here http://www.thaicdexpress.com/artist.asp?cdid=CST0000103

Oh,Very thanks for your information.02_biggrin.gif
It's Wat son as was expected!
Very helpful for visiting there.66_clap.gif Thanks again.

I am surprised that the music of the scene Ting was praying in this temple is not original but soundtruck of another movie.
Maybe that's because they don't release the soundtruck of Ongbak?? I don't know..
That movie(Overture) seems interesting. I guess it got some prizes at Film festivals? I want to watch that and also FAN CHAN.01_smile.gif
I bought a CD including a song of ending by CARABAO.
But it dosen't contain any lyrics. If someone tell me that lyrics in English, It's very very thankful. 05_blush.gif

About the Overture, it has a story when it was being shown in Thailand, too.

When the movie was first shown in theaters, there are not many people interested in it since the movie itself is about Thai classical music. New generation people think that classical music is boring. As a consequence, people just judged the movie without watching it. And the theaters were going to remove the movie very soon. Moreover, this movie's marketing sucked, too. (my opinion)

Fortunately, there are some people went to watch the movie. And those people spreaded the word through out the internet in Thailand. As a result, more people went to watch the movie, and now they just realized that this movie was not boring like what they thought. Since then words of mouth went widely, and the movie was saved by its audiences. The movie became a big hit in Thailand. It was a fever for a big while. Besides that it made Thai people even love Thai calssical music much more.

This movie survied without its marketing at all.

Let me put it this way:
Ongbak makes Muay Thai recognized.
The Overture makes Thai classical music alive again.

I already gave you guys the link to listen for a sound track of this movie. If you have not check it out, please go listen.

If you want to order VCD, or DVD, please make sure that it has subtitle since it's drama.

phew!!! that was a long story. I hope that is informative.
02_biggrin.gif
Sawatdee
Very informative, I like to hear these kind of anedoctes 011_happy.gif.
The problem is it's really difficult to find thai movies with english subtitles. I would like to buy vcd or dvd but I don't do it since I know I won't understand :(
ongkot
Yeah, I know.

I don't understand why they can't put subtitle while they showed in theater with subtitle.

Without subtitle the market is cut down a lot.

I am curious now, how much does it cost to transfer subtitile from the film into the disc?

I hope it'll get better soon.
