i was watching the making of ong bak video, and i want to share this with you...: when tony does this kick, he has incredible power. he's not just doing acrobatics, and letting the stuntman make it look good. to put so much power into this kick is extremely difficult. try doing it, without the flip... lie down on your back, and lift both your legs so they are about half a meter above the ground. now pull your feet towards the ground as fast and hard as you can. now imagine what if you were in the middle of a standing front flip!

here is tony rehearsing the kick with his stuntman. see how far the stuntman gets kicked back!!

one of my sifu's (kung fu teacher) friends, who is also a sifu, remarked that he was amazed at how rooted tony is for many of his moves (not this one, obviously). tony is not just performing for the camera, he is using really good technique! i know this is not a surprise for anyone, but i thought people might like to know that everyone in the martial arts community i know who has seen this movie believes that tony jaa is the real deal!

yeahh remember in the illegal fight club scene when Tony Jaa was rehearsing the "Bata Loop Bak" kick to the face scene in the 'making of' with Big Bear? well yeah thats another example of how hard Tony Jaa kicks. Even with the padding on Big Bear's hand, his hand got hurt pretty much. he was also having a good time with the audience saying like "OK... ONE MORE... hahaha..."
Tony Jaa fan
I believe the power from the drop kick is drawn from the momentum of the flip plus Tony Jaa is throwing his whole weight into the drop kick which = lots of power.

Hi everyone,

Does the Making of Ong Bak have English subtitle? I followed the link above (posted by :)...) spent quite some time downloading and watching all the clips and man it was well worth it!! I was completely blown away by how hard these guys had put thier hearts and soul into making this movie. It makes me appreciate this movie even more. The three gentlemen (Panna, Prachya and Tony Jaa) are the narrators on those clips. I have to take off my hat to all of them (including the stuntmen) for a job well done.

I'm glad I found this website. Thank you Sawasdee for doing such a fine job on creating this cool place for all of us..... 32_icon_mrg.gif

It's my pleasure MonYunLuck :)

I'm not sure but I think the making of don't have english subtitles... only thai, french and japanese subtitles.
