Hello all, I have been interested in learning muay boran for about a year now and had almost given up but Ong-Bak made me decide to keep trying to find a place. Does anyone know any place in the US that teaches muay boran and teaches it well. I want to learn the true art. It makes me mad that most muay thai schools in the US are taught by people who are beginners themselves and the whole philosophy is to be some tough bad ass, its very stupid. So if anyone knows ANYWHERE in the US please tell me, I'll be your friend forever.

a school that teaches only muay boran does not exist in the united states, as far as i know. many muay boran techniques may be taught in conjunction with a muay thai curriculum, but that is quite rare in the US.

for a muay thai school near you, click here.

It seems that places for training are all about modern muay thai that is done in the ring. I was curious if there still were any places that taught traditional muay thai 'boran' style in Thainland?

merged your post; hope you don't mind 01_smile.gif

edit - oops i just noticed that you're asking specifically about thailand... sorry! anyway, there are many places in thailand that teach the ancient styles, but many are for performance only, and not for combat / self-defense. if you look hard enough, you will be able to find the ancient style as martial art. check out muay chaiya.
