Has there been any word on when the Ong Bak DVD will be released in the US? I was wondering if I should get an import copy or just wait till its out officially here. Any info would be appreciated Thanks.

if you speak thai and have all the necessary hardware to watch the thai dvd, get that. if you don't, just wait for the us release.

I can't wait, I tried ordering it from Thailand, but they gave me some bull about it being completely sold out!
I can't wait for the new DVD release, I hope it's not missing scenes and fight sequences like the cinematic release.

sold out!?!? who did you try to order it from?
i wouldn't be surprised if the aussie DVD is the edited theatrical release; i think the US DVD will be edited theatrical release as well.
welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy your stay.

usually the thai movies come pretty quick on dvd also after they are out of the cinema...
But it will be another one without subs first, and then probably a long wait again for a version with subs...

I've had teh DVD for a month now, and that's after waiting a long time. If you really want it go on google and get a Chinese release (region 0, all regions). Plays in Thai language with english subtitles. Seen the movie a good 10+ times and am gonna watch again tomorrow morning. What a piece of work!
I've watched the movie so much I even noticed the "Spielberg, Let Work Together" not-so-hidden message. Gave me a chuckle. I'll also buy the american version when that finally appears for all the other extras and whatnot. Then when TYG comes out and the chinese dvd gets released years ahead of American hopes and dreams I'll be ordering on teh internet first thing, again.
