okay in no particular order...

- star wars trilogy (the original ones from the late 70s & early 80s... i don't even like the ones that lucas edited)
- lord of the rings
- ong bak (of course)
- hom rong "the overture" ...what an absolutely beautiful movie
- memento - it still blows me away every time i watch it (even though every time i'm done watching i'm all confused and i'm like 04_blink.gif "what time is it? what day is it?"
- jackie chan's movies: police story saga, drunken master 1 & 2, project A, who am i, young master, snake in eagle's shadow fist, snake & crane arts of shaolin, rumble in the bronx, wheels on meals... just to name a few
- crouching tiger, hidden dragon - i LOVED this movie... not so much for the fighting, which i thought was beautiful and appropriate for the movie even though i generally don't like wire-fu, but instead for the love story between Li Mu-Bai and Yu Shu-Lien.
- casablanca

I thought another pang brother movie was much better then bangkok dangerous,it was;

bangkok for sale -one take only

very good movie, as most of the pang brothers movies are...

For the rest its hard to say what is th best movie u ever watched, i watch so many its hard to make a list what is best..
But for martial arts movies Ong Bak and Drunken Master II are the 2 best ever made.
And for the rest korean cinema are making the best movies now imho...

My favorite movies are mainly old ones:

Spartacus,feat Kirk Douglas
Barabbas,feat Anthony quinn
Ben Hur, feat Charlton Heston
A fistful of dynamite,by Sergio Leone

More recent movie I often like to watch is Platoon(1986)
And the best 2005 movie I have watched is Blood Brothers. It is a Korean movie about two brothers who have become enemies during war.One of the best war movies I have ever watched,I advise you to watch it if it comes out where you live.
UltraMaster2000
I won´t include any martial arts/action movies here because the list would go on and on...

Couple of movies I really like:

-La Haine (The Hate); French black-and-white movie, has anyone else seen it? Don´t ask me why I like it, I just do

-Kikujiro; a Takeshi Kitano film, fits really into my sense of humor

-Some of Buster Keaton´s movies; he was a genius in the field of physical comedy, also Jackie Chan likes his movies

-Some of Laurel&Hardy- movies; some of their comical stuff just won´t outdate

Ah, it´s nice to hear that also other people are appreciating this movie, too. I have it on VHS and I showed it to couple of my friends, and their only reaction was "Hey, man, it´s black-and-white!?"...

Too hard of a question. I couldn't possibly narrow down to one... or even two... or three.

But for the film connoisseur, Wong Kar-Wai's "In the Mood for Love" is eye candy. Every frame a piece of art. Probably considered by many his finest.

Iranian's film director, Majid Majidi produced a wonderful story of hardship and unselfish love with "Baran."

For those who thinks they don't like Karate may want to see "Fighter in the Wind," a semi-biographical account of the life of Korean-born Mas Oyama, founder of Kyokushin Karate.

If you want to see true determination personified, consider watching Zhang Yimou's "Not One Less" (Yi Ge Dou Bu Neng Shao) based on real events surrounding a little 13 years old girl from Mainland China.

Enjoy. More to come...

... And for the action slash martial artists in you or for those who enjoy a good shoot-em up flick, try...

"Beat" Takeshi Kitano's "Brother" or any of his films, including his recent "Zatoichi," a twisted remake about the Blind Swordsman, and old time favs "Sonatine" and "Firecracker."

Korean's "Musa (The Warrior)" is a decent period martial arts story based on historical references, and co-featured Zhang Zi Yi.

"Brotherhood of the Wolf" (Le Pacte Des Loups) featuring Mark Dacascos and Monica Bellucci is an entertaining movie of spooks and folklore.

Tsui Hark's "Legend of Zu" is one Hong Kong's many recent techno wizardries about classic Chinese folklore mix with a good dose of fantasy. Featured Ekin Cheng, Cecilia Cheung, and brief appearances by Zhang Zi Yi. "Storm Riders" is another similar one to watch.

The "Infernal Affairs" trilogy (Tony Leung, Andy Lau...) is really good if you enjoy present day good versus evil/Triads versus cops. I loved Cai Qin's (Tsai Chin) featured in the movies. A U.S remake is in the making. "Young and Dangerous" series is another one to watch.

Haven't seen Jackie's latest HK "New Police Story" but heard it took on cues from the popular "Infernal Affairs" series.

Thailand's "The Legend of Suriyothai" is a well-directed historical epic about the Princess. Trying to locate a DVD of "Bang Rajan."
