wow, Bolo Yueng makes his comeback.

This is probably a sequal to Bloodsport. Van damme's first movie. Bolo Yueng played in that movie too.

In Bloodsport they fought in a tournament called "Kumite".

hello dolemite,and welcome
No,Bolo Yeung won't be in 'kumite'.At the beginning of the kumite project,he had wished to be in,but he changed his mind-I read that he had explained that he was too old-Anyway,the film will be released by 2007 instead of 2005.
And it's not the sequel of bloodsport, but there will be another movie starring Vandamme which will be the sequel, maybe a "bloodsport 2" title.I have no other news, and actually the movie is not even begun!let's hope that it will happen 18_drool.gif
I'll post when I have news 01_smile.gif

It will be good to see Van Damme back in a pure martial arts film. I've enjoyed most of his recent action films, although they haven't been martial arts movies. :(

I dont think they can use Bloodsport 2 as a title coz it has already been used. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0112536/ and if they think of using Bloodsport 3 they can think again also http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115714/ Then just when u thought it was safe to use Bloodsport 4 as the title, this happens 19_tongue.gif http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0172184/ The good news is Bloodsport 5 is still up for grabs lol 02_biggrin.gif Just for thew record i thought Bloodsport 2,3,4 were all rubbish. If anyone has seen these movies, do u agree or dis-agree??
anurak
i didn't see 2,3, or 4, but i thought bloodsport 1 was rubbish.
Sawatdee
I've seen Bloodsport when I was little and I liked it a lot... I've watched it again several months ago and I disliked it a lot 0235.gif

Same here!! When i used to watch it when i was younger i loved It. Even Kickboxer was class. So when they came out on dvd i rushed out and bought them. After watching them again i thought, These arent that good anymore.. 02_biggrin.gif 02_biggrin.gif

But if u watch any Bruce Lee Movie they just get better and better with age rofl.gif wink2.gif The Legend!!!! 02_biggrin.gif

i also thought kickboxer was rubbish. very poor (and borderline insulting) representation of muay thai.

regarding bloodsport: a couple years after that movie came out, about twice per year there would be some random person who walk into my kung fu school claiming to be a student of frank dux and wants to check out the school to see if we are "good enough to train him." 33_icon_rol.gif

in the old days, a guy like that would leave like this 44_stretcher.gif

67_clap_1.gif to my knowledge, van damme was never a true martial artist. he's more of a portrayer. my instructor walter "sleeper" michaelowski told us that he was in thailand for an exhibition. van damme was asked to participate in a demonstration with a thai fighter & apparently, van damme had absolutely "no game"! while on this subject, paulo tocha on the other hand, a true muay thai fighter went up against van damme in "bloodsport" wearing the red shorts fighting muay thai, lost of course. lol! now a days, anyone can portray anyone! it's sad, but, true! that's why they call it hollywood. i notice even jet li is buying into this hollywood b.s. using all that c.g.i. crap? whats up with that? he's too talented to fall into this catergory, don't ya think? this is mainly why, i've become some a HUGE fan of tony jaa. he keeps it real!! keep it up t.j., you are the man!!!

as much as i dislike van damme's movies, i have to give credit where credit is due. he is a high-ranking black belt in shotokan karate, and he was a full-contact karate fighting champion in europe... i think. so his karate is good. but the guy didn't do ANY muay thai in 'kickboxer.'

That's pretty much the reason I feel it would be so interesting for a member of Shotobudo (school I'm in) to be in a movie really, because many artists feel that many people wrongly portray a full style. (The example of Van Damme attempting Muay Thai)

But in Shotobudo, we really learn a hybrid-art. I have ONLY done Shotobudo...yet when I kick..I do Thai style kicking with the shin (when a low kick), with punches I have Wing-Chun style parry into attack fast hands, Judo throws and wrestling, Aikido locks, some basis' of Jeet Kun Do were done once before, Kenjitsu swordwork is done.

Yet at the base of it all we have Karate as the 'platform' for the others to branch out into areas.

Thats why I feel it would fit, because instead of people expecting a 'style,' (Although it is still awesome to see a style fully done, ala Tony Jaa) but instead they would see a truly unique idea...and martial artists would be able to think throughout "Hey! Thats a Muay Thai one! And thats from Jujitsu!" Thus leaving little room for 'total style failure.'

Im not saying this is a perfect art or nuthing, Im not that arrogant, but Im just saying its a unique direction I would someday love to portray. Nor do I claim to be a 'master' of any of those branching arts, obviously if I went to a Thai school they would find problems with my kicks and suchlike.

You mean the first Bloodsport? that's his first movie...but he was never on 2,3... on the second one is a different character I think he's called Alex he also in the 3rd one..never watched the 4th one though.
