Hi everyone, I'm new to the board but have been checking it out for a while now. I've just noticed that the revamped site has a link to a dvd called "the making of ong bak" - has anyone seen this? If so - what's on it? Is it worth getting?
Sawatdee
Hi and welcome ! the dvd contains the thai making of that you can find in the multimedia section here. There are also some cut scenes (a few screencaps here).
I think it's worth buying to see it in good quality :)

hi williamjames, you have an open invitation to register and join the forum! welcome! i'd like to add to what Sawatdee said: the Making of Ong Bak DVD is region-free, but uses PAL video, so be sure your DVD and TV are compatible.

the Making of is completely in Thai language, with no subtitles and no translations. if you can understand thai then it won't be a problem. even if you can't, it's worth it to get just to see the progression from rehearsals to finished.

check out Sawatdee's links and see for yourself. if those videos interest you and you can view PAL coded DVDs, go for it!

Thanks everyone. The clips in the multi-media section were really interesting - just the sort of thing I wish Jackie Chan had done during the eighties and nineties - it's remarkable to watch the action evolve and see the effort that goes into getting the kicks and flips just right. I don't speak Thai but the action speaks louder than words anyway so I'll definately be checking The making of ong bak out.
